Research Based Foundations

The Life Extension Foundation The Life Extension Foundation ("The Foundation") is a non-profit research-based foundation headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (USA), established by co-founders Saul Kent and William Faloon in 1980. The Foundation funds pioneering scientific research aimed at addressing disease, aging and death in extending the healthy human lifespan. The fruits of this research are used to develop novel disease prevention and treatment protocols. The Foundation's goal is to conquer the aging process within the next decade.

The Foundation has reported discoveries in the areas of atherosclerosis and stroke prevention, diabetes, prostate health, hormone replacement therapy, and other health concerns. The Foundation was the first organization to defy the FDA by promoting the use of antioxidant vitamins to maintain health as well as recommending a low dose aspirin regimen to maintain cardiovascular health. The Foundation was also the first organization to recommend against the use of iron in dietary supplements because of evidence that iron causes massive free radical damage contributing to the development of cancer, atherosclerosis and a host of other diseases.

Foundation members take advantage of proven therapies to address disease and slow premature aging today. Scientific literature is available to its members containing thousands of studies on the use of nutrients, hormones, and other therapies to improve the quality of life. Members use this information, in conjunction with their physicians and other health care advisers, to improve their chances of living longer in good health.
